About Into The North

Into The North is an activity bureau created from a lifelong passion for the Arctic and the adventures that unfold in its raw and breathtaking landscapes. Based in the heart of Lofoten, we specialize in guided day trips and run a fixed weekly program. This approach allows us to refine every detail of our tours, ensuring that each experience is not only well-prepared but also deeply connected to the unique rhythm and character of life in the north.

Lofoten is not just the backdrop for what we do – it is our home. Living here gives us an everyday closeness to the dramatic mountains, the open sea, and the ever-changing Arctic skies. That closeness shapes our tours, as we bring guests to places we ourselves love and know intimately. Whether it’s standing on a windswept peak, watching the northern lights dance across the night sky, or sharing stories by the fjord, every journey reflects the deep bond we have with this landscape.

The company was founded by two young adventurers from Denmark, drawn north by a fascination with Arctic life and the desire to share it with others. Over the years, we have built strong experience with guiding and outdoor living, and combined with our local knowledge, this allows us to offer tours that are both safe, authentic, and full of heart.

For us, Into The North has always been about more than simply guiding people from one place to another. It is about creating genuine encounters with nature, moments of wonder, and connections between people who share an adventure together. What drives us every day is the joy of sharing what we ourselves have felt living in Lofoten: the awe of nature’s contrasts, the calm that comes from being out in untouched landscapes, and the thrill of discovering something new side by side.

Into The North is our heart project – built on passion, local insight, and a belief in the power of nature to create lasting memories. We want every guest to leave not only with photos of Lofoten’s beauty, but with a sense of belonging and of having been part of something truly special.

Esben Beiter

Hello,

I’m 25 years old and a eduacated outdoor supervisor and instructor with a deep passion for the Arctic and the outdoors. I first came to Lofoten in 2016, and over the years I have returned again and again – until it finally became home. Living here allows me to explore the mountains, the fjords, and the endless coastline on a daily basis, and to share those experiences with others.

For me, guiding is not just a job – it is a way of living my dream. I have always been motivated by the desire to challenge myself, to test my limits, and to do so through my passion for Arctic life and outdoor adventure. This is what led me to guiding: the chance to create safe, meaningful, and unforgettable experiences together with others.

My guiding style is calm, reassuring, and rooted in experience – but at the same time adventurous, curious, and open. I love being out in nature whether it’s hiking, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, or hunting – but it’s even better when those experiences are shared with friends and new people. For me, the magic lies in the community that forms on a trip, where laughter, stories, and sometimes silence become just as important as the landscapes around us.

Having explored Lofoten for many years, I know the area intimately – the hidden paths, the best viewpoints, and the quiet spots where you can truly feel the power of nature. Yet, even after countless adventures here, I still feel the same sense of wonder as I did the very first time I arrived. That is the feeling I want to pass on to every guest who joins me: the thrill of discovery, the joy of togetherness, and the calm of being immersed in the Arctic wilderness.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sounds like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest.
